Quilted Porch Coat in Ohio Star quilt & olive trim

It’s no secret or surprise to understand that handmade quilts are heirlooms.

Painstakingly cut, pieced & stitched together over days, weeks & months- they can’t be replicated & are filled with more love, passion & life than most objects one could fill their home with.

We’ve taken on the task of repurposing these precious heirlooms into wearable & cozy art so that the delicate beauty of these one-of-a-kind quilts can continue to be treasured & highlighted.

Details:

This particular Quilt Coat has been constructed from a quilt that is both hand-stitched & machine sewn. It appears this was a vintage hand-stitched quilt topper that someone later finished & then machine quilted.

It’s medium weight & in beautiful vintage condition. We’ve trimmed it with olive wool from a surplus Army blanket for a pop of contrast.

We gave it a good soak & wash before constructing so it’ll come to you fresh.

As with all vintage Quilt Coats, please expect to find signs of wear & miscellaneous flaws. It’s a part of the history & what set it apart from garments mass produced over seas. They’re marks of love & use & comfort.

Measures approx. 26” from pit to pit when garment is laid flat.

Shoulder to cuff: 26”

Fit is intended to be comfortable & slouchy.

Fit is flexible which is the beauty of these coats!

Dry clean recommended when due for a wash.
